Assistive Technology Training
Assistive technology (AT) is a term for assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities or the elderly population. People with disabilities often have difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs) independently, or even with assistance.
Assistive technology can ameliorate the effects of disabilities that limit the ability to perform ADLs. Assistive technology promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks they were formerly unable to accomplish, or had great difficulty accomplishing, by providing enhancements to, or changing methods of interacting with, the technology needed to accomplish such tasks.
Our mission is to improve the social and economic wellbeing of people with visual impairments and their families. We do so by giving them massage therapy training, jobs, and income, while providing high quality professional massages to the community.
In Rwanda, Poor people with visual impairments and those with disabilities ,need special
considerations but they also need to be part of a general development of this country and community to lift them and their households out of poverty . This is why Seeing Hands reaches out to poor visually Impaired people in rural areas so as empower them to unleash their potential by providing free training and employment.
