Welcome to Seeing Hands Rwanda Massage Therapy Program

Seeing Hands Rwanda provides a range of high-quality massages, given by women with visual impairments. These women have undergone extensive training, and have a well developed tactile sense. The massages allow customers to relax, while providing a direct income to a marginalized group of people in Rwanda.

Beth Gatonye, a massage therapist and beautician, founded Seeing Hands Rwanda in 2017 after realizing that among persons with disabilities, women with visual impairments are the most marginalized, facing the highest rate of unemployment in Rwanda, so much that they often cannot even meet the most basic needs. Beth strives to change this by creating jobs for these women in massage therapy.

Her goal is to make Seeing Hands Rwanda one of the leading massage therapy operations in Rwanda. With aspirations for the future, Beth is hopeful to have Seeing Hands Rwanda become the first massage therapy operation in Rwanda to be entirely and professionally run by visually impaired women.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is similar to table massage in most ways, except that instead of laying on a table, clients kneel in a specialized chair equipped with a pad and face cradle to support their head and chest.
